New info came in a few days ago, but it was very vague as to where in in the Middle East it was to be located...if at all. Apparently Hyder have been given one instruction....design a building twice the size of Burj Dubai for an undisclosed vendor.
One of many 'pie in the sky' projects that probably wont see the light of day....but in Dubai, who knows?

Thanks OTR, I knew the diagram was about 3 years old but it was all I could find at short notice. Lightening quick for jaja3000jaja and he goes and logs off....typical!

I wonder what poetry V would come up with for that one?

No idea, but i'll bet you it would have had an alliteration in it.

Can we un-ban him please?
I don't see what he did wrong.

Well I certainly couldn't put an alliteration to the Al Burj design, I was lost for words and completely blown away! "Stunning" and "Awsome" are about as good as I can manage!

I'm glad someone's on the ball....and certainly not a peon!

I can say only that all the elevations and heights quoted on the official design documents (including the 818, 585.70 and other figures, are measured from 11.50 meters above the Dubai Municipality Datum.

If you understand the nuances of the English language, he was writing poetry about the Burj Dubai...and subtle quotes which describes the intolerable actions you've just taken on him.
Poetic, insightful, on topic, great pictures and delicious wordplay!
His first piece was a wonderful description of this tower...and the place that you call home.
However I wouldn't expect an Albanian ex-pat to comprehend that.
Shame on you.
No soup for you ... 1 year !

I gave him about 10 PM's asking him to stop doing it, so eventually I suspended him for one week, he never came back again.
Then he started posting more and more here.
You had to give it to him though....he was crazy about this building!

V on the other hand has done nothing wrong....I may even start a petition in the skybar to get him back!

I think he has a few fans?
Most probably he was Vanhenrik himself, there was a reference somewhere

Thirteen posts in 7 hours! I've now sent 7 posts in one hour, 4 of which are off topic.

Am I now to be banned too Altin?

I can't remember if it was Altin or OTR. Maybe even Imre has some pics?
That guy was Dubaidreaming, he ownes a flat and lives in the residences. Also some guy from the Australian forum is currently working in Dubai and living in the residences as well.

BTW, the 5th floor looked pretty much completed today, I wouldn't be surprised if by tomorrow the first pillars for the next (6th) floor will come up.

And to answer to someone's question: The pillars and other steel beams are lifted from the ground all the way to the top and no stop in between. I've seen it myself.

Hopefully we get some good up-to-date pics today or tomorrow of the new levels. If what has been said is true, then we have reached the bottom of Tier 18. It should be starting to look very thin up there. with each Tier being 18m tall. Personally i would have prefered the teir to rise 25m each... So 4 would be 100m. But alas, lets look forward to some new pics! =)

i have measured yesterday the street in which i live in google earth, it has the same lenght as BD width!!!! incredible....

Also good to hear that they increase the work pace on the steel structure.....

And many thx to all psting stuff to keep us informed about the action going on at BD downtown.........

19.2m Each (i just checked) but yeh... i just think its getting to thin too fast... these teirs are really close together compared to the lower ones.. i would have liked a more slender design but i guess it'll look okie once its done.

remember the 3 x160th floors are 3.2m each.that may appear short floors.
then there all 6.4m/22ft floors up to tier 24, then back to 3.2m floors.
