Those Armani suites are very pretty big for hotel rooms. I like it. I also love the look of that air conditioned pedestrian bridge. I'm surprised it doesn't have a pair of escalators though.

__V__ set out a task to leave an impression on you all, looks like V did!

Do we have some close ups of the top of the BD to be able see progress on the steel frame being constructed, think people have trouble zooming in that far, you need a telescope with a DC attached to it!

And an air conditioned bridge, as soon as I saw that glass enclosed bridge I thought it would get hot, but not with AC, what a waste of energy and time! Don’t people just drive in Dubai, it’s too hot to walk in the heat!

Hi Altin, thanks for the response.
I hope you realize that nothing untoward was meant by my statement, which after reading again could be construed as a slur upon yourself.
It certainly wasn't meant to be.
What I meant is this....I speak 7 languages, 5 fluently...and one of my favorites is French.
Although my French is conversationally fluent, I could never comprehend the nuances of 1600th century classical French literature.
As I studied English Literature at Queens College, Cambridge...undoubtedly the home of classical English with a penchant for the works of Shakespeare, so I can appreciate the beauty, relevance and meaning of what most people here saw as off topic drivel.
I believe that very few would get it without broadly understanding the historic echelons of a Latin derived language.
I hope you understand there's no bigotry implied or intended?

I'm sure there will be a few who won't like the design aspect of it....it's not a million miles away from the original.
"Heightists" as I like to call them, certainly won't be disappointed.
I personally liked the original and this one to me is better still.
As you can imagine I can't say any more as I'm contractually bound....but the new Al Burj is to the old, what the Burj Dubai is to the Grollo Tower!
Read into that what you may!

It could still be next month, however I have a 6 week project deadline for another new Nakheel project before I start on Al Burj.
I had about 3 months prior notice of "The Universe", "Blue Communities" and the "Port Rashid" redevelopment back in October for the TDIM website.
I would guess about 10-12 weeks, but they may release pictures or do a media release as they often do, before the official website is due for completion.

Anyway, here's the TDIM website for all upcoming 2008 Nakheel projects, this is where you'll all see it first.

It looks to me like the first of "The Residences" towers west of the Old Town, directly overlooking the lake.
I'm sure OTR will know which ones they are?

1 Burj Dubai
2 Dubai Mall
3 The Old Town
4 Burj Dubai Boulevard
5 5+ 5a The Residences (18 towers)<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
6 Burj Dubai Lake Park
7 South Ridge (6 towers)
8 Burj Dubai Business Hub (6 low-rises)
9 Burj Dubai Lake Hotel (63 storeys 300m)
10 Burj Dubai Metro Station
11 The Lofts (3 towers)
12 Burj Views (3 towers)
13 8 Boulevard Walk (38 storeys)

These are the projects announced and under construction within the complex, except the metro station

Now you can also see how many plots for towers on the left side of the Burj Dubai are yet to be announced!!!

The towers in the image are "The Residences", with the view in that area about to change considerably with foundations on the go for about six other towers in that area soon that border the Burj Dubai Boulevard..

Also cladding has now started on the 100th floor this morning

Oh, dear....you're gonna regret asking that one....
I'm a Venture Capitalist, I own and run companies in various sectors.
Nine subsidiaries to my company with currently 26 facets, all working in unison:

International Business Development - My HQ, where I integrate the following ventures.

Technology - Research, Collaboration, Future Tech Development, 4G, MIMO, HSDPA's, iBurst, Wi-Bro, Rebranding Desktop P.C's, Laptops, Smartphones etc...

Media - Film Production, VT Editing, 3D Design, Animation, Post Production, Online Advertising.

Studios - Web development, Programming, Business Platforms, Gaming, Hosting, Web Marketing

Travel - Package Holidays, Late Deals - Travel Worldwide & Digital trip contains 35 travel websites maintained by my design studios.

Money - Credit Cards, Loans, Mortgages, Bankruptcy, IVA's, Debt Management etc

Music - So far only "Resonate"...kinda like a cross between iTunes & MySpace, a place for groups and musicians to manage and upload their songs for others to download.

Records - Currently two labels for signed artists and new talent.

Properties - Dubai, Burj Dubai (59th floor shared equity release), Dubai Mega Projects (my passion)

Strangely, to guarantee I got the Nakheel contract...I was 3 of the 5 possible vendors!
Also, I'm developing it at a loss....but what I lose on one hand...I gain in the other...if you know what I mean?
