"Hijacking will never happen in a country with the greatest homeland security."

Hijacking can happen anywhere. Greatest homeland security? Your sources please.

911 already happened once and it won't happen again in the US or anywhere else unless security becomes lapse again.

The attack was by terrorist psychotics who hated the U.S. so I doubt they would go after Dubai.

Good points but...

1. Yes it means its HIGHLY Unlikely!

2. That happened after the hijacking... no flights fly normally trough manhattan. Same as in Dubai.

3. Can happen but it wont... why would bin Laden or Bush do that to UAE? Doesnt make sense... unless Sheikh Mo orders Bin Laden or the US military to help him bring it down lolz. I read it in article that Dubai has the best homeland security. Just look at the Drug Laws

4. Yeah rriighhttt.... thats what people said after the 1993 WTC bombing but the terrorists came and finished off the job... doesnt matter where you are or how many times it happened, it can happen again, history repeats itself.

5. Terrorists go after countries who enjoy freedom, i dont think they will go after Dubai, but i also qs Bush, so it might be Bush and not Bin Laden in the first place... So unless its proven it was him, i qs the US government, and NO the fake Bin Laden confession tapes dont count lol. 0

At the moment Dubai doesnīt look so urban and metropolitan like a world city.
In this picture you can see the desert right behind the Burj Dubai.I hope it will change till 2020.

What you see on that pic did not exist 15 years ago, so i am sure by 2020 it will all be urbanized. I dont like the picture posted above because it looks too empty and I cant wait until Business Bay ect are complete.

thats where the meydan dev is located. Dubai is very much a world city: atleast the traffic matches or beats other met cities!
The pic is just of a small stretch of the Sh Zayed Road. Unlike other cities, Dubai does not have a concentrated and clustered grid-system CBD. Instead, satellite clusters are located around the city. What you see here is just one of them.
Furthermore, eliminating the desert would make it seem like a prefabricated western city. The contrast the Burj is able to make with a desert background is what sets Dubai apart from the rest: a perfect balance of western influenced development in a sustained manner.

Is it possible for "normal" people to access the area where all the contruction-sites are?
Is there a working public transport system to these areas? I hardly can read and understand the Arabic letters.

At the moment there are quite cheap flights from Germany to Dubai (100 EUR) and Iīm thinking of going there for construction-watching for a weekend or so.

Yeah those T-shirts are very old...I got one when I was in Dubai more than 2 years ago. It's a bit worn out now, so I just use it to sleep in! These days I find it amusing because the Burj has ended up being so much taller than the one that is proudly shown on the shirt.
