The same thing happened, if you remember, with the main cladding. A single panel was mounted for weeks before the cladding work speeded up.

All the cladding is tested exhaustively -possibly a few few panels are mounted as the final phase of testing before the rest of the panels are bulk shipped.

That's a great photo - maybe not as aesthetically amazing as some others, but because of the distance, it largely removes the effects of perspective. So you can clearly see the relative heights of each building. Good work!

I thought that outside performers were not allowed on a construction site for safety reasons; also this would cause a distraction for the workers.

What was the purpose ?

Probably only an Armani photoshoot.

If you look at the gathered workers they were not in any danger with their hands being restless in their coverall pockets.

what is the purpose - function of last 150+ meters ?

According to Fury's diagrams on Burjdubaiskyscraper, I did not see any business or building function shown above L160Mezz3 other than space for window washing equipment. Above this point appears to be space that does not have a declared business purpose. Maybe I have missed something, but what I have seen is only the methodology and mechanics of building the spire.

The construction records being attained will likely be passed on to other buildings within the next 5 years. Meanwhile, the building cannot start producing revenue until finished, and the cranes are all removed from the top.

The cost and time to build from 630 meters to 819 is significant - in millions.

What is the business case or economic justification for doing so ?

I think it's because of style. Why do women wear earrings, why build mosques in such a beautiful way, why paint the ceilings of the Vatican buildings, why do men wear business ties and jackets when it's warm out side? If we built everything in a purely functional way we'd have nothing but commieblocks. Humans love style, it brings a warm human nature to things we create.

HAHAHA ... I actually felt sorry for them when I watched the video. Going from none to super models.

BTW, from what I saw today, the outer perimeter columns were almost all in place.

Altin: I thought it a bit harsh of the six foot models to be asking " Comn now workers lets dig deep in your pockets and give us all your loose change".
