The construction records being attained will likely be passed on to other buildings within the next 5 years. Meanwhile, the building cannot start producing revenue until finished, and the cranes are all removed from the top.

The cost and time to build from 630 meters to 819 is significant - in millions.

What is the business case or economic justification for doing so ?
For the architect, less cost of building is not mayor goal. Good looking and estetict of building is mayor goal for them. If the building owner had much money and the architect can provide and satisfy the need of building owner, it is no problem to make such 'a greedy building' if the owner came form rich people. As we know that to make such 'cheap building' you just make it to simple by using 'rectangular frame' instead of 'arch frame'.

just my two cents

I love the pictures but I've run out of fancy ways to say "nice pictures, thanks."

Any idea of what they're doing with the lake?

Looking at that area tonight it looks as though they are extending the fountain feature along that full area in front of the BD as opposed to the original plan that had the fountain in the vicinity of the the Mall.

It looks as though there area number of changes to the masterplan for the full Downtown area including roads, buildings etc.

586m is the height over-ground, 601m is the height from the first floor ( including underground floors )

Of course I realize that if they actually were installing such a thing that they would never release any information on it.
You have to realize terrorist groups are not just against capitalism, for example Al-Qaeda is against Israel and all who support them (U.S.A).

They should put missile defense system on the Burj. Like the Mech floors would open and missiles intercepting any plane within a km radius with approval. lol
