I for one still stick by the plans as they have been using 6.4 m. columns for a while now and are supposed to continue this pattern. I'm betting the next time they update ( whenever that is ... ) the height will magically come into line.
what have u notice thats different from the plans ?

Interesting predicted time BTW Pity that this is also not true.

SORRY I HAVE SOME PROBLEMS WITH FORUM. HOW TO DELETE THIS DOUBLED POSTS?
Strange article in the Gulf news... 3 numbers seem to be used by the writer because they sound good together - something like "45 years" * 20 = "900 meters" * 4 / 3 = "1200 meters" . But at least the main message about the bd as the tallest worldwide is there.

Btw. you can edit your posting afterwards and shorten it to a message like "double post" .

Hi Helghast.

The difference is 629.0 vs. 630.5. Not much but it is the first time there has been any difference. I think it will magically come back inline when they update again ( months from now - ? ). If not perhaps I will have to change my plan - we will see - but I will wait to see the next update or 2 OR see some new plans.

I think the reason they took levels off is because there is no named levels after the one they are working on - no biggie.

^you bet.
just enough room to stand and take in view 768m up.

the terrace is about as big as a spa bath.
(to give you idea of scale. the pinnacle dia in diagram below is 2.1m)
balcony area=( 1.1m x 1.7m)

Looks like another column going up to start another level. Not much height difference though.

Cul-
So will that top terrace actually be floored with a railing and have a door to it? Or is it just sort of a landing?

What do you mean? Is it not 6.4 m? Or not much difference from your most recent pic?

Yes, have a close look at my diagram. theres a 1.7m door which opens to the small balcony. it has a 1.2m parapet, so fairly safe.
here is an elevation showing tier27
look at bottom left of diagram. you see the door with balcont parapet. the door is about as tall as average man.

Hey Cul,
I understand completely your diagrams. Just was wondering what your estimates are on when you think they will be at tier 27?

World tallest structure

Warsawa radio mast 1974 - 1991 = 17 years
KLVY TV mast 1991 - 2008 = 17 years
Burj Dubai tower 2008 + 17 years = 2025 ?

That Tier 27 balcony will be a viewing spot and a half though very few will have access to it.

Im not sure if this has been asked already but are the vertical fins on the pinnacle purely asthetic or are they functional?

If the wet part is colored in red maybe. The terraces are over the wings which expands lower you go so no clear vertical descent from there.
