Love this diagram BTW: Any chance of adding Ostankino Tower to the 'mix'? Currently 540.1m but plans to increase to 568m to regain tallest frestanding tower from CN Tower. Not sure as to progress on this?.

CULWULLA could you please clarify the situation regarding the OB Deck on the BD.From looking at the above diagram I get the impression that the SWFC [Shanghai World Financial Center] will hold title to worlds highest OB Deck??....or is that for outdoor 'only'?.Is it 442m for outdoor, and 517m for indoor on the BD...or otherwise??.

This mammoth structure will be mostly residential; but will also be home to the worlds highest observation deck at a vertigo inducing 517m high, as well as the worlds first 6 star rated Armarni Hotel.

CN Tower currently holds title to highest [open to public] OB Deck.As seen on diagram below:

I didn't realize there was still concrete being added to the building. Nice diagram that shows what's going on.

the indoor observation bridge in SWFC will be worlds highest public observatory at 472m. it will also have an observatory at 440m and outdoor deck at 435m i think.
yes the current highest is indoor spacedeck of CN tower at 447m.
the Burj dubai deck will be on lev124 which wil be 442m high, indoor and will boast an outdoor terrace as well which is roof of tier 11.
i think the upper levels of burj dubai may be accessed by vip parties.but you will have to walk up 40 floors to reach tier27 or 786m.
Also tier22 or the 701m level or level 185 will a popular floor. It is roof no4 and is highest "habitable" floor. this may end up a vip observatory? just 23 floor climb from lev162.ha

I am jealous of UAE and Dubai...But how much does the Building costs? Not the whole complex mind you but only this 819 metre tall Burj Dubai building? Can you please supply me with verfiable figures?

The floating around numbers are from $2 to $4 billions. Building the concrete/steel structure alone contract (awarded to a JV of SAMSUNG, BESIX & ARABTEC) was valued at around $1Bn.

if they do a minimum of 3 floors a month...... thats 18 more floors in 6 months... but as the floors get smaller less steel is required to make themm... so it shud be alot faster

probably 4-5 floors per month come teir 20.

Would the elevators go far up as top of concrete structure floor 155 mezzanine?

from the white diagram of 14th april above, the stair on the steel floors being worked on now (green) doesn't link with the stair right beside and above it.
The stair seem to end at tier 24, is tier 25 accessible, if yes then how?

I believe BD will become the world's tallest structure ever built by mankind very soon. Now that 8th floor started, 2 more floors left after this one. TOP OF THE WORLD BABY TOP OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally think that they are still following the 819m plans. They only run out of storeys On pics levels look still 6.4m high just like in the plans. 819m is a great height and its way enough. Anyway, it will be surpassed in 5-10 years. Crazy times up ahead

I like the idea of an observation deck at 442m/Tier 11.... high enough to be impressed, and then the equivalent of an Eiffel Tower above you.

But they should've made one more at a higher level - just to have the tallest observation deck in the world? Perhaps at 586m/Tier 16 on top of the concrete structure.

Hi BlackSmith.

I agree the columns still look 6.4 m. like in the plans. I kinda think the next update on the official site will come back in line with the plans.

On another note - I can't see Cul's April 14 drawing.
