I think a bar/nightclub/restaurant would be perfect at level 160. World's highest restaurant with superb views and exquisite cuisine. I could only imagine.

@venhenrick-please dont post 30 photos of burj dubais status in 2006. i think everyone knows they can simply go to websites for that. besides we all want to know its status NOW, not then.
ive edited your post so anyone can just click on the photos if they wish to view them. maybe a tip for the future posts?
cheers mate

I agree. Seeing old pictures of Burj Dubai just makes me sad. It's like seeing pictures of Pamela Anderson when she was 8....ewww.

I couldn't agree more. The 442m observation deck will not be significantly higher than the observation decks on the Sears Tower or former WTC in New York. I suppose the small floor space at higher elevations on the Burj Dubai really limit where you can put an adequate observation level.

BD may be tall, but it's a bit of a light weight above 300m. The ICC has half its hotel rooms above 442m and a more interesting skyline to observe.

from the white diagram of 14th april above, the stair on the steel floors being worked on now (green) doesn't link with the stair right beside and above it.
The stair seem to end at tier 24, is tier 25 accessible, if yes then how?
the stairwell starts at lev160mezz and reaches tier23. from tier23-24 is ladder access. then from tier24-27 is internal ladder access inside pinnacle.
(the 156m long pinnacle actually has internal ladder the whole way from tier20B).
As for lift runs.
the longest is 514m to lev140. from there you can catch more lifts to lev154office.also the lift runs terminates at 160mezz levels.
there is also the express lift to lev124 observation deck)
ive also added ob decks for eiffle,cn tower, esb and sears

ive edited this info to new diagram
otr mentioned steel now to 8th steel section which is 637m or lev164/165!

Yeah that'd be interesting to find out more about. I know the Taipei 101 has a gyroscopic damper at the top of theirs... but that's because it's a big 512m box essentially. My guess is that because Burj Dubai tapers towards the top, vortices don't build up to any appreciable amount so no dampers are required.
