eurpeon- i think its looks extremely tall. considering the closest building to its left is 280m high. shows its scale.

there was going to be a damper on lev162. this was to stabilize the connection from concrete to steel.
but tests were done and its tapered design and rigid structure kept swaying down, so dampers wont be needed.

I just read on another website that they are expecting up to 1.6metres of sway at this level (true?) ~
That would spill your drink

1.6m over 819m isnt much at all.be lucky to feel anything. and thats at 819m mark. so down at habitable section say observation deck it would be half way up thus 800mm sway. nothing,

let me say so: when you want to find out which structure ( here BD ) is the tallest manmade structure ever you've to count all, including cranes ( and it doesn't matter if topped out or not, only the height counts )....but you can't make any entry in a book, website etc...because the height is only temporary and changing all the time. so, we've already the tallest manmade structure on earth, but not official

Its a matter of weeks and this will be the tallest of everything in history of men.
Then we no need to discuss this issue anymore!

Two photos above, about 10cm to the right from BD, there are emirate towers with two towers beside it. Looks very like the dubai towers proposed.

(Yo saeed the last days are signed by the hunger, poverty, war, famine and more hatred when new world begins)

That is a sweet looking model. I like the "complex" looking base of the tower.

buildmilehightower, stop triple posting! Its annoying, why you don`t put everything in one post? And you can`t compare a project U/C with someones dreams, it won`t happen in at least next half of century .

BTW:
As of two days ago, www.som.com indicates Burj Dubai floor count as 164 floors high.
