I'm glad to see that the water is starting to look more like a lake and less like a swimming pool. It looks deeper much more natural when it's dark like that.

@Julito-dubai, Great idea. Had a few extra minutes, so I basically gave a try for the same photos you used.

@Imre, Hope it is ok to merge your shots? Any preferences how should they be copyrighted?

@Old Town Resident, Great shot. A clear one.

P.S. I can't recall but there was some rules for maximum photo size placed directly on site?

Culwulla, where did you get this information? Are you just predicting or did you read this somewhere?

Just because people do not say if they like or hate the design does not mean that they like it. I personally do not think you can say that "most skyscraper fans seem to love the design." I believe that most people who do not like the design feel that their comments will not be received with open arms on this forum, so they do not voice their opinion.

I do not like the design but I also do not hate it. I am sure it could have been so much better, but it is still very innovative and unique. I will wait for a final verdict until it is complete and until it is habited and occupied.

quote from burj park website>

Many Burj Park residences open to Burj Dubai and offer a vast panorama of greenery and water, including The Fountain, the centrepiece of Burj Dubai Lake and a landmark within Downtown Burj Dubai. The colourful and spectacular Fountain is a musical water feature incorporating choreographed music, light and projection – Burj Park will enjoy some of the best possible views of The Fountain

some more features of the Burj Dubai complex

outside mall

Water Terrace - view from Doha Road.

The aquarium will be three storeys tall and feature glass 'walk-through' tunnels that will contain exotic marine life.

Resembling an ocean liner from the outside, the interior of the Mall will accommodate over 1,000 individual shops

The Dubai Mall project comprises a 5 million ft² mall, residential and retail facilities.

Some renders of Burj Park Residences (From its thread)

And a little extract from an article:

Demand surges for Emaar's waterfront homes at Downtown Burj Dubai

Posted: 10-04-2008 , 13:32 GMT

Waterfront homes located in the heart of the city are the new trend in the residential property sector of Dubai, as customers turned out in record numbers for the launch of Burj Park V in Downtown Burj Dubai, the flagship project of Emaar Properties PJSC.

Burj Park V is the first in a series of residences that are specifically designed by Emaar to maximize waterfront views for customers. Within walking distance of Burj Dubai – the world’s tallest building - and The Dubai Mall – one of the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destinations, Burj Park also offers direct access to Burj Lake Promenade and to Burj Park Island, a 25-hectare park located on an island accessible via a bridge walkway.

Here is the thread for Burj Park for anyone interested: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=602647

P.S I'd love to see a night shot of the same pic which kuusanmaki created...
The 135m fountains will look incredible against the Burj, if they are illuminated at night with different colours. Just imagine...

I don't know how those guys can work so high up. I wonder if anyone has fallen during construction of this building. I'd also be interested in knowing how they get the cranes up and down from there.
