Just think about this folks:

On top of what has been built, there still has to be added more than the height a skyscraper

^pretty close. ive scaled that at 833m. needs to be 819m ;-)
just on post 6490- the burj lake hotel is 280m to roof not 300m. the twin spres reach 306m. hopefully oneday, the burj dubai on skyscraperpage will be done accurately. its a shame that the one of the most important skyscrapers in history is wrong on one of the most viewed/used websites?
great shots altind

Agreed. There used to be a much more accurate diagram...I have no idea how/why the current one replaced it. It really bugs me how fat it makes the Burj look.

Yes, the current diagram is terribly proportioned. I have no idea why it was put up since the last one was one million times better. It's way too fat and the spire is all squished.

Will the spire actually have floor plates in it or will it be hollow all the way up?

It is unusual that with the Burj dubai project ,the architects have labelled the top most 40 levels as a "spire" which is actually an enclosed structure with the "pinnacle" as the actual spire which rises up through the 'spire" structure. the 40 level spire has staircase access to very top of tier27 or 768m. The "pinnacle" starts at tier20B or 662m and rises up through the spire to 50m above tier27 to 819m.The pinnacle has internal ladder access the whole way up and starts with a diametre of 2.1m and tapers to 1.5m then 1.3m and finally 1.2m.
Each of the 40 or so levels above 162 are each 3.2m high and are only the size of a large loungeroom and slowly taper to size of a bedroom and terminates the size of a toilet.lol

i noticed one of the cranes that used to commence at tier15 like the other one ,now starts on tier 17. next to that bracket extending out.
