The tallest mast ever had a crane too while it was being built so... the record isn't still beaten IMO.

Well the "kangaroo" cranes will dismantle themselves to a certain point, then they will use the one of the kangaroo cranes to totally dismantle the other. then the "proposed" spire crane (yet to be added) will lower the other Kangaroo crane and finish up whatever is needed on the the spire. Then the spire crane will bring up a smaller crane probably something like a stiff 3 legged derrek. The 3 leg derrek will lower down the spire crane in pieces and finish any areas that are left from where the spire crane was. Then the 3 leg derrek will be dismantled and brought down by large service elevator. I am pretty sure I am fairly close to being 100% right on this. If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

If I remember correctly, I thought you responded to Culwulla saying that you posted one earlier that was larger.

I wasn't aware Culwulla posted the same large version...if so, does anyone have a link to any of them? Haha...

Or the kangaroo crane nr 1 lowers nr 2 down, nr 1 also build the big crane 3 and nr 3 will lower down nr 1, and at least a helicopter will lower down nr 3?

fantastic photos, and great diagrams from cul as usual .the pic of looking striaght down reminds me of the one i took from the skydeck from the cn tower 10 years ago.imo the other guys who think the obs deck should be the highest in the world are right because 10 years ago the cn tower one was the highest in the world and that was a good feeling, and the floor area was very tiny because of the lift shaft in the middle, maybe 10 people at a time.but with 2 obs decks they managed it fine. so the burj should have a smller one at maybe 550m and have a limit of people at one time.

Thanks a lot! Too bad I'll have to wait till 2010 for a visit, was hoping to go there july 2009. Now it will be july 2010. The Burj Al Arab is somewhat affordable when going there in july and august, hmmm wonder why....
But I think its best to go to the dessert when its 45 degrees Celsius to get the real dessert experience, in comparison to when it's only a meezely 25 degrees Celsius in December.

In july it will only set me back a couple of € thousand

It won't be 45 degrees. More like 50 to 55 degrees and that only in the shaddow. I go in May and beginning of June. Would not go later than end of that month...

I've been living in Dubai for my entire life and it never reached 55
maximum was 52~53 and that is very rare... I think the maximum this summer is going to be around 50 degrees not more

But back to BD. Structure looks amazing. Only 3 meters to go and it will be the tallest structure ever built
This shot from level 158 is incredible according to your diagram CUL it's 605 meters wow. Yesterday I visited Warsaw and went on the observation deck at 150 meters or so and the view was niceee. I can't imagine how incredible view is from 600 meters or will be from 819 meters. I'm wondering how fast the elevators will be? Going at level 150 for example is going to be a some experience.
The elevators in burjD will run at 18m per sec.-worlds fastest! when testing last year the elevators had slowed down because excessive speed could caused trauma to passengers-ie-heart attack, dizziness ect.
yes current height is 643m, and scheduled height=819m , thus 176m left to go or height of Washington momument.
regarding Warsawa mast-the collapse was caused by retensioning of the guyed wires.2 guys were killed as a result.;-(

here is latest version of mighty burjD (smaller vers posted before)

Is this the latest render of Downtown Cul???
Why is the spire missing from the lake hotel, or the Address as it is now called?

Does anybody know the approximate measurements of that mall? It's always impressive.... the area taken by the shape of the Burj seems like nothing compared to the mall... and the Burj is bloody large at its base.
