It is a little confusing to visualise what areas are which from all these pics from different angles but those labelled details from Fury and co help a fair bit

Has anyone seen close-up photos of the joins between the sections of the vertical circular columns?

I totally concur with your thoughts...

In equal measure you should be as 'corporal' with the messages and posts that dictate Dubai is the 'best' city on the earth etc etc.

The two are completely connected

Im not attempting to cause controversy with it...but with all of the 'wow' 'amazing' 'best thing ever' one liner posts , I think its important we respect and understand 'how' the 'wow' is being achieved

Give me your warning and be done with it

Edit : nice new pictures OTR....I remember those debris catchers were an extreme 'annoyance' to me ...!
LOVE the building... but if there is a underlying reason for the "wow" I also would like to read about it. Really these Dubai lovers take any criticism or a perception of criticism of BD or Dubai as a personal affront. BTW... I am perfectly capable of scanning these posts and deciding on what to read and not. Besides I am more interested in the pictures. The complexity of the steel structure at the top of BD is intriguing.

This is not the site for that. If you and the orthers have missed the name of the website or the thread you are posting too, you will be "reminded" to either post what is relevant to it or not to post at all.

There are countless other places in internet where you can post or discuss human rights or whatever other issues, but NOT HERE, NOT IN THIS OR ANY OTHER SIMILAR THREAD!

So one more level of steel and BD will be the tallest structure ever built by humans?

yes, but it s been tallest free standing structure for months since it surpassed CN Tower. comparing it to a flimsy radio/tv mast held up by guyed wires isnt really a comparison.
but alas

BTW Culwulla. I went to the Town Hall city model and I think you need a taller cabinet for your model of Burj Dubai and any other 800m+ monsters that are going to be built in the future.

^yes i know. when i made the cabinet in 2003, i thought 650m would be high enough for many years to come.it looks funny how model of burjD sticks out of glass.but it really is alot higher then anything.
who, knows when next proposal is to come along.could be years.

No ones TRYING TO BE POLITICAL ( whoops....my caps seems to have the same problem as yours...)
The way its being built is just as much of importance as the other 'record breaking statistics' on it and other achrictectural/mechanical things that make it special.
Look, it's not about trying to cover the issue, etc. The only reason some people act the way they do is because they've had the same discussion a million times before and they have to repeat themselves.
If you want to have a lengthy discussion about this stuff this isn't the thead to do it. Why? Because it's the burj dubai thread and it's a general issue as opposed to just something about the burj dubai.
If you want to discuss it you should post here:

Literally from nothing except sand, soil and rock to the most "prestigious square kilometer on earth" - as described by Emaar.

I just realised, why the 1st mechanical floor cladding looks like it is installed wrong or it has two parts. Vertical steel beams between pieces of glass are not sticking out like on other floors. Anyone idea why is that?

Well, but why are they missing just on the upper part of mechanical cladding? And it is like a week and there was no change on the cladding, I am not sure they are going to install them...
