these 5000 facade lights, will they be visible on the outside of the cladding or are they somehow intergrated in the whole system?

cant wait to see when they put them to show, remember once this sheet from skytower or fury that clearified all the lighting equippement, that indicated there is a spectacular opening show we should see, hopefully not later then next summer, I am doubting a december show

I think the lights will be integrated in the cladding and the terraces on the setbacks. If they will be visible from the outside they will have such a shape that they fit the BD's cladding very well.

i wonder what level the windows will stop?
if theres no windows in upper 40 floors, it will be dark at night. maybe they will have external lighting?
latest render indicates spire section will be darker then rest of tower?

I have decided that I will wait until the Burj Dubai is complete and in-use until I make an opinion on whether it is a good building or not. The main issues I have with the building is its location. I would rather there be more buildings beside it, instead of having a lot of empty area around it. But I know that this was done by Emaar so that the Burj Dubai looks taller. I also think the glass is too shiny/reflective. I would have liked a better faηade, and maybe even some balconies. I know this would have meant a different design, but it might have been better.

What a nice thing is the internet, here we can find out so many people.

Loverofdubai, I agree with you and somethimes I feel the same, I like that humanity is doing that big construction and getting higher and higher and other times I don't like, and you're right, we must wait until they finnish it to take an opinion. i think architects will work something out. no wonder top 40 floors arent inhabitable. no windows. you wouldnt realise your up 700m at all. just keep walking up stairwell until you reach spire hatch.

Hi Cul.

See lower left :

This is an old ver. - 808 but shows glass to tier 20.
Single laminate glass - 21 to 23.
Perforated Stainless - 24 to 26.

Near top :

Shows thermal sprayed aluminum coating 27 to top - obviously no windows.

It will probably be close to this for the current version.

^ah? so to tier20? about half way up spire structure? then small slots of glass up to tier23? maybe we should call that the highest inhabited bit.
thanks

Hi Cul.

I read normal cladding to 20, single laminate glass - 21 to 23, perforated stainless ( over single laminate glass- ? ) - 24 to 26.
