One question: is it banned in Dubai to take photos of Burj Dubai now? There has been no update photos for 6 days...

I want to see those low resolution photo of the tower top (steel floors) by old town resident sometime soon.

If there weren't so many people acting like tossers in this thread maybe the photographers would be more forthcoming with their work.

Ever thought of that ?

I agree. Just relax and wait for the new pictures to come. There are many other skyscrapers going up with fresh pictures in other threads as well. If there are no updates for 10 days just look at porn for those 10 days instead.

LOL, just people might have been busy with other commitments or out of town. In the case of Imre and me is the former, don't know about OTR.

Imre might just be the badass he is and post a mega update one of these days, so I'm not stressing.

Wow that high aerial photo shows just small in area Dubai is... Fantastic building heights but does it deserve the press it gets?

well, the area of Dubai isn't that small. It's the empty desert and the odd highrise spacing which gives the impression.

I think Dubai is awesome, the skyline which now includes the near completed megascraper of Burj Dubai makes it look like a city of the future.

I read in a popular science magazine, not by far any of my favorites but in either case i read an article in the store when i saw it was about skycrapers, hehe.

It reported that nanotechnology is being used to make the materials used to build the new supertalls more heat resistant etc. For example, i dont know if it was steel or concrete, but it normally got deformed at a bit below 400 degrees celsius (i guess reinforced concrete but i dont remember) , but the new nano-level treated materials did not start deforming until they had been heated to 500 degrees, they also had other advantages.
