Dh20,500 sought from Burj jumper
By Bassam Za'za', Senior Reporter
Published: May 29, 2008, 00:10

Quote:
Dubai: Burj Dubai is seeking temporary compensation of Dh20,500 from a British visitor who jumped off the 150th floor of the tower with a parachute strapped to his back on April 25.

The Public Prosecution said the suspect entered the tower secretly.

Adv Samir Jaafar represented Burj Dubai before the Dubai Court of Misdemeanor, where the man, identified only as D.G., pleaded guilty yesterday.

Burj Dubai owners will decide on permanent compensation soon.

"I skydived from Burj Dubai because it's the world's most beautiful and tallest tower. I didn't have permission, but I trespassed because I knew I would not get permission," D.G. said in his statement.
http://archive.gulfnews.com/articles.../10216900.html

20,500 AED = 5,581.42 USD
20,500 AED = 3,566.834 EUR
20,500 AED = 2,820.605 GBP
20,500 AED = 585,227.21 JPY

Way more then that. It's common for projects these days to push the $800m mark in normal cities.

$4.1 billion for the tower and $20 billion for the entire sector so says the wiki. Take that as you will.

Then the next 4 tiers are each 19m high and consist of 3x 6m high levels will be erected, which will reach tier22 or 701m. This is highest main roof.
then onto 2 more 19m high tiers (23 & 24) reaching tier 24 or 739m.
Then 3x 10m high tiers which all have 3m high levels topping out at tier27/768m.
I also think the pinnacle will be constructed in these levels and hoisted up in sections to telescope to 818m or thereabouts. my theory.lol

Above lev155 or top of concrete section, the steel section will rise 232 more metres. or equvilent to adding park Place on top!

I amost twirled

He even didn't have a spectacular death.
Instead of falling from the highest level of the Burj Dubai... some lousy panels fell on him.

beacuse thats how it is. each steel section is 6.4m high. there is a level half way between each level at 3.2m. sort of a landing.
ou can see horizontal beams in photos. thats why the top section has aboiut 40 levels. even thought it has 20 segments/ each steel section consists of two levels.
