If you look in the official website of Burj Dubai http://www.burjdubai.com

then klick on facts&figures, then on facade maintenance, they will explain it to you in a few sentences.

Or something!

To the point: The BD will get cleaned constantly by machines rather than humans because the only people that have the courage off doing something like this are the sherpa`s in the himalya`s. It costs money training them and feeding them whilest a machine can clean the windows perfectly.

Cheers Jak3m

My condolances to his family. We have past 40 million man hours already.

- That pic is from somewhere between 08 04 16 to 21 - looking at the cladding progress and comparing with known dated pics.

You are correct Blacksmith - there has been 2 double hoists there from early in the construction - 1 there now. there is 2 doubles on the other side of that wing (South wing) that start at the "ground" also. Perhaps they are starting to use some internal lifts now. Good eye.

Yes there are birds where greenery is.

Inside the dense residential parts of the city pigeons are a real problems though. Their drops are everywhere, even on people's balconies or window frames.

Why is there no Index in the render of Culwulla a few posts above?

Is it old?
Or do they just estimate how the environment of the considered building could look like... if so, Burj Dubai's surroundings could look totally different in real!

It would have been produced before the designs of the other towers were finalised. Also I have noticed they often cut off the top of the Index in a number of the renders. To trick the apartment buyers into thinking they will have an unrestricted view, which the Index does a pretty good job to block.

Are you sure "your friend" sent you this?

Flickr not only has your older pic that was sent to you, but newer ones that he must have sent to you as well?
