Both do have the same size terrace but 124 has more inside floorspace and is taller at 6.0 m. verses 4.8. Also the terrace on 124 faces the Dubai mall and 139 faces South.
Thanks for the replies. Good point you make Fury about the Ob Deck facing the Mall

Hi all.

Ok Guys - Entrances :

Zone A - faces 120 degrees - Concourse level - at -6.00 m. - Boutique Office lobby

Zone B - faces 240 degrees - Ground level - at 0.00 m. - Resident lobby and Observatory lobby

Zone C - faces 0 degrees - Level 1 - at 4.00 m. - Hotel lobby

I believe as Cul stated the Concourse entrance is at grade on that side of the structure so may be a legit starting point for the official measurement. For now though I will stick to the plans which have Ground level at 0.00.

As far as connections if you go in the wrong entrance there is stairs to go up or down - probably escalators too. I have a good print of the Ground level but it is 25 MB so I can't upload it.

As for lighting I posted ages ago the lighting plan. It shows many fixtures worth millions but doesn't show how they will be aimed.

Here is the pile layout for the 194 - 1.5 m. dia - 50 m. deep piles. 192 is what I have always heard too but now that I look closer there is 194. This plan numbers all the piles I presume in the order they were dug. The lower left wing has a row of 5 where the other 2 have rows of 3.

fury will have better idea.
lake is about 2.4m deep.
otr-external lighting. hard to say. you cant light up units from outside. too many residents would complain.
thats why 2 of the worlds tallest are in darkness at night (Eureka and Q1) but Q1 has its crown lit because its architectural feature)
you can get away with lighting up office sections. but not hotel or apartments. will be in dark at night i think.
but as for spire. this can be light up like a christmas tree!
from about 600m up the tiers would have large spotlights shooting up each tier. i heard the small lourves that spiral around the pinnacle will be back lit, so that should be spectacular to see.
Thanks Culwulla, just looking at the BD last night there is not much to see in the dark except for the cranes, mechanical floor, and the vertical areas adjacent to the elevators that are not clad. I think they may have the same approach as The Burj Al Arab where full lighting affects are illuminated until after one AM, and then turned off until the next evening.

I think it's because they need to make the glass recognizable, I also think it's not spray but a sticky tape.

Probably the glass cladding are invincible from the inside or they are trying to make sure that it will not be accidentally touch by the crane outside. Either way, this one is just temporary and it will be nice and beautiful once everything is done. By the way, where will they get the water for the fountain? From the sea?

Such a magnificent building to behold. No picture can possibly justify the true monstrosity of this building's presence. Amazing beyond any descriptive words.

I haven't been paying attention to this much in '08. With the glass on most of the way up now, you get a real sense of this thing...and it just looks so astonishingly tall. A fantastic structure.
