Machines are going to do the job.

Like on the Sears Tower.

Cheers

Nothing against Dubai and Burj Dubai but I wouldn't want to visit Dubai just to visit Burj Dubai. It is just too hot. It is bad enough living in Australia with temperatures of 40 degrees celsius and above. Going to Dubai would be unbearable.

And you would never get a perfectly clear view from Burj Dubai due to the desert haze. How many days can you see a perfectly clear horizon free of dust and sand and haze?

Perhaps I should wait until a building of Burj Dubais height is built in a more temperate and comfortable environment.

Don't come between May and September, then you'll be fine. 7 months of beautiful weather, sometimes still hazy though...

How many days we have clear weather? Probably more than the number of the days you can see the blue sky and the sun in Europe.

What are the functions of the mechanical floors exactly? This I do not quite understand...

Good progress I see, the cladding is coming along nicely.

I really like BD and other buildings in Dubai, but I wish they were someplace like New York, London or Moscow. Even on a clear day, the humidity, dust and car polution make everything look hazy in Dubai.

You want to see burj dubai under snow???

But I think burj dubai is very specially made to be built in Dubai in the desert. Starting from it's design influence which is the desert flower.

If burj dubai was built in NYC, I would really hate it because it will just suddenly take all the attention off empire state building, chrysler building and etc...

I am curious if there was some kind of secret agreement with CN Tower to let them keep the "World's Highest Observation Deck". As one of Canada's top attractions, CN Tower would probably have been willing to pay a pretty dime to keep at least some "World's Highest" title. They probably won't remove their "World's Tallest Building" label until after the Burj Dubai record is authenticated (Guiness accepts record, etc), and then CN Tower would change it to "World's Highest Observation Deck", "World's Tallest Observation Tower", or something like that.

If you ever visit the CN Tower, pay the extra money to go to the SkyPod (highest public deck). It is worth it. It is quite unnerving looking down at the main observation level 400 feet further below you!

but you cant look up the remainding 106m spire.
In Burj Dubai, the lev124 ob deck is 442m high with outdoor terrace which you can see up a further 377m!! now thats unreal
