Hi Build.

Not completely sure what you are asking but here is the top levels of the concrete and the first levels of the steel.

It kinda looks like they clad the 6.4 m. steel ( level 156 ) in 2 - 3.2 m. parts.

I don't see any brackets at 1/2 height though. They must be 1 piece cladding that look like 2 ?

We will need a better angle to tell for sure if they do look like 3.2 m. parts.

Nice shots OTR - by the way.

if you look real close, you will see a horizontal band halfway up first cladding on steel section.
i think architect will want same cladding sections whole way up so all looks like same , so you wont see where occupied floors start and finish ect.

Hi all.

Hey Cul.

That's what I was saying in the post above yours. It looks like the cladding on the steel is one panel 6.4 m. high that is made to look like 2 - 3.2 m. parts. Just looked over some detail cladding prints and for sure the cladding will be 3.2 m. sections right to the top of tier 26. I have looked at these many times and just realized it now . At some point they will have to use 3.2 m. high cladding as tiers 24 to 26 are only 9.6 m. high. ( verses the 6.4 panels made to look like 2 - 3.2 parts )

You know I made the screenshot of that print you posted a long time ago. I have probably looked at it a hundred times. I totally overlooked the air intake that is setback deeper that the wing above it - in the cloud.

Hey Helghast - so the answer to your question from a few weeks ago is - the cladding will look 3.2 m. high from tier 16 to 26. I had the answer all along - just couldn't see it.

I looked over a bunch of spire detail prints and it looks to me that they will pour concrete every 6.4 m. right up to the top of tier 22. I am missing detail prints of some levels but here is what I have :

1 - They will pour concrete over the ridged metal they are laying every 6.4 m. section from the start of the steel to tier 22.
2 - They will pour concrete over the ridged metal they will lay at every terrace / setback right up to the top of tier 26. They then have 1/2 dozen more layers of various products as part of the roofing systems.

It appears they will pour every 9.6 m from tier 23 to 26 which makes sense with #2 above. The must be using the cranes to lift the mixed concrete up there.

Very interesting this once in a lifetime structure.

It does more than confirm his argument. That skyline is no comparison to Shanghai.

The cladding is "climbing" up fast!

P.S.
Because of the shape of the building, Burj Dubai will be off limits for base jumpers

Now that I remember Adrian Smith saying that it will be 4 occupied floors in steel section, it makes sense to me they've start cladding there . I think the cladding will stop at that point (mechanical floors)
