OH!!

Sorry, mistook the period for a comma. Now it makes more sense.

I think, they will use both tower cranes till the BD is topped out( like SWFC).
Mayby one goes earlier. The platform on the steel section is for a smaller crane, when the top cranes comes down and dismantle the boom.
We will see.

ive shown details of pinnacles summit to emporis chiefs and they indicated they WILL include aircraft beacon and hand rail ring in official height. so height will definatley be either 819m or 825m (if lower concourse is counted).
or emmar p\might pull a rabbit out of there hat and pinnacle maybe a bit taller. who knows. but atm we are going with what we know.
great shots otr.

What's the approximate distance between you and the current top of Burj Dubai?

Congrats on the 450D. I'm thinking for long to buy one, however no lenses can match the zooming power of the x12 Leica in my Panasonic FZ camera.

BTW, where's the area with the glass having cross marking with tapes, should be at the bottom, right?

As far as height is concern, why you guys always "forget" the fact that all the official drawings states very clearly that the height figures there are 11.5 meters above the DMD (Dubai Municipality Datum) or what the Municipality considers as ground level.

Altin, This is the main entrance at the SZR side of BD.

Haha, fifth grade was very long ago. Let's see if I can still do it.

a˛ + b˛ = c˛
square root of a˛ + b˛ = c
square root of 420˛ + 680˛ = c
square root of 176400 + 462400 = c
c = 799.24964810752341.....................

So you're about 800 meters away from the top of Burj Dubai. That is, if I didn't make any embarrassing error in my calculation, haha.

Anyway, great picture quality, looking forward to more of the kind.

WTB over time.

Here is the time they hold the record:

1. Empire State Building - 41 years

2. Sears Tower - 25 years

3. Wollworth Building - 17 years

4. Petronas Towers - 6 years

5. Taipei 101 - 5 years (if Burj Dubai will be finished in 2009)

6. Met Life Tower - 4 years

7. World Trade Center - 1 year

8. Chrysler Building - 1 year

9. Singer Building - 1 year

10. 40 Wall Street - 1 Month

-------------

Is hard to belive that anything will ever beat ESB record, even Sears and Wollworth will be hard to beat, but I'm sure Burj Dubai will stay unchallenged for at least 5 years, even 10 will not be such a big surprise for me.

Mile High Tower - Jeddah, The City Of Silk - Kuwait or other "wet dreams", are not even fully on the drawing board: don't have a final design or location. Not to mention serious wind loading analyse, structural resistance and floor plans.
