OTR´s picture clearly shows that they are already adding cladding there!

oops my bad sorry helghast ,ahhh you mean those beams at the mechanical cladding? I was also wondering why they aren´t already adding them....

BTW i am so curious about the landscaping around this tower after major construction works are finished, will be surely spectacular when they stick to the models that were shown on several exhibitions...

I thought they would use more subtile rails.

IMO, the rails will also be subject to the same adjacent cladding that will give safe access to the terrace on either hotel, office or residential area.

After all the offices will need an external smoking area or its a long way down for a nicotine fix.

good question helghast. Also, if someone haven't noticed yet in a lot of previous pics, the are many fins missing not only at mech floors but all along the facade, as if a windy storm have ripped them off

A strange thing I noticed. It looks like there is a rail missing in the cladding work:

I wonder what happened with it or is this supposed to be like this?

yeah, culwulla, the OB deck will be fine there..
but you know.. the most weird thing is, that we are talking about the OB deck at Burj Dubai, where, I think, the Burj Dubai is the most wonderful building in whole Dubai - as for now. I mean, the city is getting very nice, but as someone mentioned, the skyline can not be compared to that of shanghai yet. maybe one day, but don´t think that.

So, really, there should be another supertall, standing next to burj dubai, that would have an OB-deck with a glass-floor above the highest point of the Burj Dubai, so that the people could look at the wonderful shape of the BD. I mean, this picture is simply fantastic, where one can at least guess the whole building, and how it looks.

And, when the people are talking about the shame about the BD OB-deck being positioned so low, I really think, that it is because of having the chance to feel like standing at the top of the world (at the same time as breathing air, that is thick enough not to make you sick)

anyway, great construction, I am really curious about the documents that will be released after the completion of the building. If I had a TV company, I would definitely start a trip to dubai now...

You're right. The most beautiful pictures of the Burj Dubai are the aerial pictures, where you can see the shape of the tower.

Yes, they are the fins we have been saying.
It could be a possibly error design. A some kind of chain reaction occurred when a single fins dettachs , the upper ones simply fall down.

I think so. But I wouldn't like to be nearby when some stainless steel parts are falling down from that height

The BD cladding has encountered over the last several months the sand storms, and every day dust.

Imagine how this will shine when the first rain of the year gets at it, or a good wash down for opening day?

[QUOTE=Old Town Resident;23909382]The BD cladding has encountered over the last several months the sand storms, and every day dust.

when was the last time it rained in Dubai?
i guess, Emaar will have to order some rain or some big airplanes that would wash the BD at the opening.. or?

btw.. I saw here at the forum one picture where the guys started to clean the cladding.. there was an enormous difference between the clean and the dusty windows.. let me find that..

yeah.. here´s the link..
it´s one of imre´s recent pic-update-captures...
http://www.burjdubaiskyscraper.com/2...ubai_07141.jpg

see the difference?

i will look like schyzophrenic, but as I was analysing that picture a bit, I am not sure if they were cleaning those parts of cladding, or they were adding some kind of coating to the steel beams?

Quite the opposite, the rain will be the filthiest thing ever to hit the tower, so they should pray not to rain for months before opening.
