Thank you for the new closeups, OTR and Imre. Great to see the construction process of the sections up close as always.

I'm sure just like any large project, there is a very specific order in which every piece is assembled for the final product. Whether a fin or few missed their construction timetable when the rest of the floor was done or if they simply have not gotten to the site yet, I'm sure a final check will be done to make sure every missing piece is there eventually.

Otherwise, AMAZING aerial shots lately. Thanks to all the dedicated and talented photographers who have given us the opportunity to watch this building rise almost daily from across the world.

It could be a possibly error design. A some kind of chain reaction occurred when a single fins dettachs , the upper ones simply fall down.
no they didnt fall, they just havent put them in for some reason

I was just showing that the mechanical level could also be opened for venting. Thats what I guess are the black areas.

Are those black horizontal bars across the first mechanical floor on the right side of the photo just temporary setup?

Is the design for the mechanical floors cladding to have bottom half with vertical metal bars and top half without vertical metal bars? or is top half of mechanical floor yet to have vetical metal bars put on them.

The last column put up yesterday for the 16th level steel really stands out when illuminated at night and is very different from the tubular columns in previous levels.

Is this part of the structure linked to the pinnacle hoisting mechanism as the steel geometry is heavy duty when compared to what has already been constructed.

Hello all, this will be my first post... I'm sorry to report that my photos won't be as clear as Old Town Resident's, these were taken without a tripod on August 01 which was a particularly hazy day. Nikon D40X with kit 18-135mm lens.

I'm uploading from a rather slow connection so I'll edit this post to add more JPGs in a couple of hours.

A large and oily machine (drill?) seen on a construction site near the Burj Dubai. This was by where I parked my car...

Closeup of oily machine with many hoses. What is this thing?

You weren't meant to post that diagram in the supertall section, I only gave it to saudi arabia for a reason... Never say never though. In fact I updated that, with more balanced diagram of burj dubai (slendering evenly at higher as going up)
