Have any of you actually read the thread at all? apparantly there is a strike on. that would explain why not much is happening

Yeah, but the officials are saying that it's not affecting the Burj.

This was taken by AltTab from the top of the shoreline apartments on the Palm Jumeirah with a zoom lens at high resolution. I then cropped and colour corrected it in photoshop and posted it here for you all to enjoy.

I know this is slightly off topic but how much energy does dubai's desalination plants use, they must be pumping a seriously huge amount of salt water out of the sea.

I have often wondered about the desalination usage as well, I guess its time to fire up Google.

the new board picture of the burj dubai looks horribly out of proprtion, i really hope they dont increase the height just for the sake of it.... id rather have a perfectly elegant building tbh.....
