Dubai bridge collapse kills 7, injures 15
Last Updated: Thursday, November 8, 2007 | 12:16 PM ET
The Associated Press

excerpts:
---
A bridge under construction in thr booming Gulf city of Dubai collapsed Thursday, killing seven workers and injuring 15, Dubai police said.
---
"We tried to put a huge piece of metal in a wall when it collapsed," said Muthu Raj, who said he was among 30 Indian workers on the bridge when it collapsed. "I saw colleagues trapped inside, but I managed to jump back and stepped on the road."

I love this building. It really defines what a skyscraper is.....good job Dubai!! I just wish the observation deck was at the highest occupable floor.....that would be amazing. As it stands, the OB wont be much higher than the skypod in the CN Tower.....right??

That's true, however, there are a couple under construction elsewhere that will be higher than the sky pod.

I cant seem to find the particular picture your referring to. I have seen a couple with an old diagram showing with a 355m figure on it but not the new one.

Oh great photos Imre!! In the first post of your photos, did you use a special camera?? I say this because the sky looks very blueand stranger.

So, the Burj Dubai will have more floors and will be more taller or only the construction is stopped at the moment???

We are not sure yet Quijotillo.

Were yet to see any definitive evidence of a deviation from the latest 'public' plans of the BD stating L156 as the final height for the concrete structure. There could possibly be delays due to the strike; due to shipping of materials; due to an infestation of nomadic camels.

Most of us are hopping we will see concrete rise higher than L156 however I am sceptical about this. As I said before, just be patient. As soon as there is something new you can be sure it will be posted and analysed on here.
