700 meters!!! What a milestone! Buildings in the future might go higher but the Burj will always be in the history books as the first 700m+ building!

Spire Hoisting Mechanism

Seen clearly in the photo, two of the three pulley wheels in place for the spire lifting mechanism.

The 700 m breaking column looks to have been sunk into the existing level structure frame.

A lot going on up there.

I think our celebrations are a bit premature, I think what looked like the first beam is actually the first wheel thing. But still good news!

The pulley wheels were installed last night but I could not make out in the dark what they were.

Theres a lot of steel being installed that looks like columns that would add to the height, but they end up as diagonal bracings or form part of the existing level.

I dont think 700 m yet.

Still good news as the structure will get very interesting.
