I wouldn't mind doing that a couple of times per year. The view must be amazing.

So I guess we will see the tower gradually grow till a height of 758 meters, and then the last 50 meters will be completed in probably just one day or so when they hoist up the spire?

I say we will see a top out by end of this year, with more on the cladding and interior to be finished in 2009. The New Year in 2009 will be awesome to witness as Burj Dubai will use fireworks and lighting effects.

That diagram is old but can a person actually stick out the top of the spire and look out of it?

Of course, that's all what they are trying to say. why do you think there is a ladder going all the way up? just to exercise? there will be a 1.1m balustrade around the top of spire so you can stand on it safely. this is where the height 819.1m is coming from. 818 + 1.1

Thanx Mithat - I bet I've posted about the top platform 20 times ....

That pinnacle diagram by Cul is great work and highly accurate as are all of his diagrams - a picture is worth a thousand words.

Since the tower above 740 m will be very thin, what will the floors above this level be used for?

the 9 levels above tier 24 are basically access platforms for the pinnacle.
the whole steel structure above lev162 is basically an enclosed spire with 40 floors of internal platforms with access for the pinacle maintenance.
