Why is the height still a secret? Imagine its 1000m ... that would be the biggest surprise ever...

It won't be the tower is already to small at the top now to reach such a height.

The spire could reach 1000m but it would look a bit disproportional.

If so then the spire would be tall as the empire state building itself.

btw what happened last time when people thought it was 700.9 metres but wasn't, was the beam taken off the top or has it been lowered down to the level below? And maybe this time the same could happen with the new beam up at 700.9 metres today.

Well its not how tall a building is that makes it beautiful, its the design and architecture. I believe this tower will be in the 800-900m mark... Keeping the height a secret is just teasing us, but at the same time making it more interesting.

I think I will go there in December!

P.S.: At the moment there are flights from Frankfurt for 300 EUR (round-trip)

i dont think they would hide the final height all this time just to make it as tall as everybody believe. if they kept the height a secret i think it's because they want to surprise us...maybe a few meters more, but not reaching 900m

If you look at the tower in the last picture, and you imagine how it will go further, I can't believe it's getting much higher than 100m from now on.

- Thing is the plans we have in here ARE secret. They were never released to the public. The fact we in here have them pisses off Emaar to no end I bet. I know I feel bad about it .....

818.0 m. is going to be the height going by the plans and that will not change. Even though the CTBUH measurement that will be done upon completion may be as high as 825.1 m. that does not change the 818 from the floor of Ground level to the floor of the platform on top. The 825.1 would include the handrail for the top platform and the Concourse level as there is an entrance there - IF they go with that height.

EDIT:

Oh yaa and 700.9 m. !!!!!

AAAAAH - that felt just as good as the premature banaculation...
