Crane Dismantling Process

Dont have my camera but driving bye this morning the crane used in the dismantle process has been installed on L99 circa.

The diagram shows just about what is there at the moment with exception of where the cranes are indicated on the plan as L161 as to where they are now L156.

ZZ, The concrete to steel interface will require minimal concrete at this stage and it would be more economical to pour from a hopper as opposed to pumping through stage 1 and 2 pumping stations.

The removal process of the cranes has started today so I would also guess that completions have already been done at this level and its steelwork all the way when the main crane is put in place.

We can expect to see one crane being removed over the next two days, and one being relocated for the steel installation, in addition to all form work being removed.

WOW! those 4 aerial pics are stunning!! especially the third one were we see the full dubai skyline! Amazing! Imagine it at night when all the construction has finished in a few years time......The new skyline of the future, which people 20 years ago, thought would one day come to life, is being constructed right in front of our noses!!! Can't wait to go to dubai in 2010

As for the number 8 being significant to the east, well the far east anyway, lets hope the burj dubai does hit 888m. spectacular!
Anyway just to put things into perspective, if the tower is to be 818m tall (and assuming that the top of concrete is 586m), then the height of the steel section (including spire) would be the equivalent to the Menara KOMTAR tower in Malaysia (232m), picture below.

remember guys, its 819m not 818m. theres a full 1.2m of safety ring and aircraft beacons that are a major inclusion atop the spire.
any permanent addition like lightning rod or beacons are counted in official height as per CTBHU rules.

great shot
just think, the hotel in foerground is nearly 300m-so called supertall. if thats the case what do you call burj Dubai?
