great update denniss

heres latest diagram/
Hi Cul.

I don't think it should be part of tier 27 at 2.1 m. I think it should be part of tier 30 at 1.2 m. It looks more like part of tier 28 at 1.5 .m. though.

I think we should see the very top of tier 30 with the platform on top sticking out before they start jacking. They aren't planning on putting anything up with a helicopter after jacking so they will have to put it on before they jack. Then we should see the top few tiers get jacked. Then add more tiers under what is already jacked and jack the whole works into place.

This is the only way I can see this happening but as you say it will be interesting to see the actual proceedure. Anyone have any other ideas on how they can do the jacking ?

3rd Crane Placement

Who laughed at the idea of a third crane a few days ago?

Sorry Cullwulla, another detail change.

looks more like an elevator to me, even the cabin is there... If it would be a new crane why would the base go so much down further, fixing it on 3-4 floors would be enough.

About the jacking procedure, I agree with Fury. I can't imagine any other way, the top of the spire should be fitted first and then jacked upwards, the the lower part will be fitted and jacked again, then the lower part again and so on. If they put the lowest part of the spire first, at that level, how are they going to fit the upper levels? with the crane? So what is the point of jacking then?

Another option is they have already built the spire inside (or they will) this is the top most or some high section of the spire. when it's finished they will lift it up at once... I don't know... But one thing is for sure, seeing the 2.1 dia. part at that level at this stage doesn't make sense.

Yes, even the cabin is there, a crane cabin.

Suggest glasses or a bigger screen!

Mhhh when i am looking at close upīs from OTR or Dennis it seems to me that even this from distance thin looking part of the tower is still somehow massive.

There's one isolated piece of glass at the 4th floor from the top of concrete floors in the first photo OTR posted at 10433

Actually there are 7 towers in this picture, which already gained the supertall title:

- Burj Dubai
- Emirates Office Tower
- Rose Rotana Hotel
- Emirates Towers Hotel
- The Address
- The Index
- Ahmed Abdulrahim Al Attar Tower

Soon, Al Yaqoub Tower and Khalid Al Attar Tower will be also in the list

Save picture on your PC. Open the picture, right click on it and choose "Properties" (or equivalent in the language your Windows is), and in the tab that opens you;ll see all the details and picture informations you want to know ... and many more.

Really? I was just comparing it to Rose Rotana and proportionally it looks like somewhere around 300m? Ok maybe 295?
