Hi all.

Hey Mithat.

Yes I think the jacking proceedure must be close to what we're thinking - can't think of any other way.

Nice shots Dennis and OTR.

Well well - a recovery crane already - hmmm. It looks like it will not have a mast ? You would think they would have put some mast before the deck and a self climbing form if they were going to use one. Makes sense as it doesn't need a mast to disassemble and lower the main crane once it self lowers to the bottom of its mast. It is months early for any recovery purpose though. The second cranes' mast will be lowered in pieces by the first main crane. I guess they could use the recovery crane for the lower part of the mast and they must be using it for other things untill the main crane is done.

Also as abc noted this blue recovery crane will lower the main Favco but a smaller recovery crane will be erected to lower the blue crane. That smaller crane will be small enough to be taken down in an elevator.

On another note it was asked and answered earlier if any internal elevators are running. Must be as Altin said. There was 4 double external lifts (2 on each "side" of the South wing) from the ground up to approx level 100. Now there is only 2 - where the other 2 were is being cladded now. All the workers doing the inside work on the first few tiers are probably using the internal elevators. The last pic I have of the safety sign from April shows 7100 workers - I imagine there is even more now ?

You could almost feel from the recent pictures the general sensation of a looming deadline and the immense speed at which everyone is working. 7100+ workers an impressive figure, racing to complete the Burj on-time. I could only imagine the pressure the people managing the project on the ground are going through now.

Speaking of pressure and time has any interior work began, or I am too hasty.

Crane Locations Today

Maybe this pic from today will better show the exact crane locations as now, and assist with future conversations related to crane decommisioning.

Or maybe they will use the big crane for constructing the spire and the small blue crane for small stuff for the building itself (interiors, construction materials for elevators)?

It's a FAVCO-FAVELLE recovery crane.. looks like a 370R.. bit hard to tell until all the rest is up.... I thought they would have placed it lower simply for the fact as to where they'll place it's recovery crane..????? The 380 crane at the top will still bring down the tower of the other.. Thinking about it now, the 370R might have a line drop long enough to reach the ground meaning it could dismantle the crane at level-99... or they'll place it on level 99 and repeat the process. I can't make out the white writing on the side..

Anyway, here's how it was done in Melbourne in 2006.. just to give you an idea.... MARRS from Sydney brought down the GROCON 380..

MARRS also own the biggest FAVCO in the world.. a 2480D... it's in QATAR building a power station if you're nearby..

And the M60R and M40R..

more shots here..

Sorry it's a little off topic but there's this pesky building that always distracts me when I look at a pic, does anyone know what building it is?

Well, once somebody tells me if it's a supertall or not, then I can figure it out. It just sticks out to me.
