The leaning is an optical illusion. This could be the least leaning tower on the planet since they use computer/satellite technology and it is virtually impossible for any leaning not to be noticed.

What happens to Spire Lift equipment ?

After this spire lift job is finished, what happens to the equipment used to lift the spire ?

Is it brought down, or is the equipment encapsulated within the spire (like what happened to one of the tunnelers on the English Chunnel job ) ?

If it comes down, since this is custom built equipment, maybe it could become part of an exhibit about the construction of the BD if there will be one.

Exactly how many steel floors, and how many mechanical floors in this tower? I'm just curious.

Yeah, if I remember correctly it's only a few centimeters off vertical and they use satellites and GPS to measure it. As was said, probably the straightest tower in the world. There's just no way they would let only the largest most publicized tower in the world lean.

Last night I dreamed that I came to this forum and saw a new picture with the spire being another 12 meters higher. Maybe I should see a doctor, already starting to dream about looking at buildings on forums.

Hi Library.

I think they will take the lifting equipment down. The TBM's used on the chunnel were just too big to remove. Who knows perhaps there will be an exhibit.

I'm really looking forward to some shots of the next piece of the pinnacle whether on the ground or up at the top. The next piece will tell us if what we see up there now is tier 29 or 30. I can't wait to see the top platform up there so they can start jacking.

Also I edited my last post as was tired when I typed it and in the tier lengths I put tier 29 as the 2.1 dia - 9.4 long when of course it is tier 27.

I'm still a little choked about the basejumper who jumped off his holy grail and made all site visits stop. I would like to see some interior construction shots again but alas - now we will probably have to wait untill completion for interior fit and finish shots. There will be a flood of pics once people start staying in the completed structure which I am looking forward to after completion. It just would be nice to see some more interior construction shots - stupid basejumpers ...

I'm joking ... If I was into basejumping I probably would try to jump off the WTB too. But I'm not - I'm into the Burj Dubai - stupid basejumpers ...

A complete overreaction on Emaar's part
No damage intended or caused , on entry/exit/flight/landing... and just a wake up call for their security....nothing more nothing less.
Taking it out on legit visitors, does not decrease the risk of another jump in any way......hence over reaction...
But, all the same...sorry 'bout that guys

NP Down. As I said if I was into basejumping I would have jumped off it too if I had the chance.

Nice shot Dennis.

Looking at the pinnacle we can see sticking out, if it is tier 30 they could add the other 10 m. with the platform on top without lowering anymore of it into the void. They could attach a welding platform near the top of tier 22 wing.

If what we see sticking out is tier 29 then they may have to lower again as there is just over 20 m. to add to the top - or perhaps they could add that 20 m. without lowering ?

Either way the crane is high enough so we shall see.
