This is just amazing. I remember seeing a documentary on foxtel on a massive cable car/ gondola built in China somewhere and large parts of its frame where lifted by helicopter. It was on extreme engineering if my memory is correct. But i guess this is probably about 20 times higher So maybe that makes it non viable for helicopters to lift the spire.

really would, especially if it drops on someone...

But this video is interesting, in the beginning when it shows the lower part of the tower it looks like seeing a render with all the cladding covering most of the surface.
