It's really fascinating to see how the height is increasing over the last month.!
And btw (maybe a bit off topic but) did the crane workers really have to climb up every morning from bottom of the steel structure to the top of the crane?

I guess I am wrong

^if you take a close look at my diagram, there is a workers external lift which has now access to tier20/662m.then the crane driver then would climb up 20m high temp staircase to tier21/682m. then walk across walkway to crane shaft and climb up another 30m to cabin.
not too bad.

Doubtful. There is no elevator that goes up to that point.

So the crane operator climbs a ladder instead of climbing a ladder. Yes, makes a lot of sense.

culwulla just explained that the operator takes an elevator to 662m
then goes up a temporary staircase to that walkway that perennial quest mentioned,
which is where he climbs from up to the cabin.
thats a total climb of 50m up the edge of the building

Hi all.

Crane operator daily journey.
1 - External lift - ground level to Level 113.
2 - External lift - Level 113 to Level 160.
3 - External lift - Level 160 to Section 20.
4 - Stairs - Section 20 to Section 21.
5 - Start of tier 21 mast support - walk across to the mast.
6 - Ladder - Up 7 crane mast sections then up to cab.

We must be close to the next piece of pinnacle getting welded onto what we see at the top. That will really tell the tale as to whether it is tier 29 or tier 30 sticking out the top right now. There seems to be some days between each piece being attached at the top - the welding would take many hours but not sure why there is so many days between.

Hundreds of times more likely that the crane operator would be run over on the way to work than his crane collapse. I'm sure they don't employ idiots to build the world's tallest building! Everything looks pretty professional.

The exposed part of the spire/pinnacle is completely surrounded by scaffolding now. Maybe they are applying coats/painting or something related to the preparation for jacking.

The first 6 steel levels look like a combination of steel and concrete. Am I mistaken? Does the elevator run up in there?

if everything breaks, they all die. but hey, they are all eventually going to die, so there is nothing to be scared of right? besides i suppose that the guy working up there is kinda used to the hights.

The first 6 steel floors are habitable if I’m not mistaken. So I guess they are accessible by elevator.
