Well, if you all haven't heard, this weekend the Mubarek Tower in Kuwait will go under construction next year and will be the first to cross 1km. Check out the other thread. BD didn't get to it's full height before they announced a building to surpass it. Burj Dubai will now become very temporary as WTB when completed, since by 2011 Mubarek Tower will have surpassed it. I guess that the good ol folks over at the Al Burj camp are going to go for the kill once they redesign their building.

Lotta fun, lotta fun.

Questions re plan diagrams on Facts section of www.burjdubaiskyscraper.com

The earlier high-res plan shown for level 112 is different from the one in Fury's more recent diagram - the elevators are in a different position, and other details.

Is this part of re-design that happened since the original diagram was posted?

On plan Burj_Dubai_07_10_4.jpg

In Level 144 - Tier 13 the elevators are visible, but on Levels 150's-Tier 15, I can't see them--maybe because the resolution is low, or is there a transfer between these levels ?

How does one get up to the floors in the 150's ? Is there a skylobby or transfer level higher than level 123 ?

How would one go from an apartment on level 100 to the Club on Level 122 ?
Does it mean going to the ground and back up, or is it a direct trip ?

How does the garbage get down and out from the residential sections ? Is it a direct drop to the ground level in a chute, or is it a transfer of some kind ?

What's the highest floor that has:
plumbing - running water and washrooms ?
power for lights and computers etc. ?
heat or a/c ?
elevator access ?

What does "highest occupied floor" mean ? Is it the highest one that can support a full-time office/residential function, or is it a different meaning ?

Wikipedia article on the BD notes an outdoor swimming pool on level 78. Is this true ? Level 78 is in the residential section. If the pool does not exist there, the article needs to be revised.

Is there a web-site where answers to these types of questions can be seen ?

Thank you

Urban, I had a look at that at the weekend but only a small angle iron structure and a sat dish.

So no steel at the site yet. Actually there is no need to have steel at the site already. Formwork to come down, cranes to be removed... still a lot of work.

Yes, and watching all three cranes today it was constant large lifts all day (containerised).

And with crane halfway up the transport up and down is even faster as was before. We are entering into very interesting part of construction

hi,
i may help with some questions.
disregard the 705m elevation.
the highest floor reached by 1 lift run will be lev139. from there you will need transfer lifts.
there will definatley be designated lifts for lev124 observation level.
i think highest floor accessible by passenger lift will be lev162.
Im sure there will be interconnecting lifts in the residential section to go to club122 ect.
Not sure about garbage chutes. maybe a good idea. or maybe just a daily pickup from trolly by worker.
The highest floor which is inhabitable will be lev159 (plumbing - running water and washrooms /power for lights/computers/heat /a/c ?/elevator access) communications room.
There are some tiers in the residential section (lev78-108) so maybe a pool will be located on roof of tier 7 or tier 8 or tier 9 or tier 10?
theres a lot of speculation about alot of things to do with Burj Dubai. maybe we will just have to be patient and wait until its completed and all our questions will be revealed.
cheers
