Wow, what a thrill would that be, jumping of that height! Illigal, but cool!

Yesterday afternoon I took some pics from the other side than usual, here they are:

Cheers everyone, enjoy the weekend!

Bringing up the Baby...?

Why is it so that we rarely get pictures of pieces of the tower being raised by the crain? Anybody know why?

Because we don't sit and wait for a beam to be lifted up and at this stage they are more focussing on the inside works than on the lifting of beams to the top. Not much to be lifted left, so that's why.

I've explained this before a week or so ago, The base of the Spire is at 20b, but thats AFTER its been jackd up. so before its jacked there it will obviously be lower down.

My idea was that the spire would start at 586m, add the total length of the spire 144m, and what figure do you get, 730m! which is where it is now.

But some pictures show the spire not going down to the top of the concrete so who knows whats going on lol. unless they perhaps build the lower parts of the base of the spire from within, like weld together small parts they can bring up in evelvators ect

Is it too soon to talk about the launch date(opening ceremony)?

I know we don't have an exact opening party date but can we venture an educated guess at say...the month of September of 2009?

I was just watching the Atlantis opening and I'm sure BD will have a party as spectacular with the laser show and the fountain.

I think Old Town Resident took once a pic, but not so sure. They might be doing it over the night shifts also, who knows.
