But I think you're wrong in the part I quoted. The pinnacle isn't at the height of the 6th drawing, because that would mean it is higher as tier 23A, which isn't the case. They are still easily able to put up 23B and start jacking at the moment.

Cheers
Hi Dennis.

The top of the pinnacle is at approx. 730m.
The top beams of section 23A that is the top section up right now is 732.9m.
This shot by you shows clearly that the pinnacle is over half way up section 23A.

So as I posted earlier the pinnacle is at the height of the 6th drawing but section 23B is not up on the structure as the 6th drawing shows. I think it will be erected shortly unless they have revised this plan.

Can't wait - want jacking ... -

I have made a new video for this month. Something went wrong with the rendering format, so the images don't appear on the full videoscreen. But anyway, here it is:

Complimentary workDequal

Was there ever an official announcement of a top out at the end of this year?
It seems that work on the spire has slowed down, and I’ am curious as to whether a top out is even possible in this timeframe.

The jacking itselfs goes very fast. They lifted up the spire of the Taipei 101 in just one day. But that was also a tiny one.

great explanation fury. i measure the spire ercetion diagrams at 808m.
note in spire install sequence it mentions spire starts to be installed from lev156? also it will be a 3step process. i think they are ready for 2nd stage?

If that plan is to succeed, with the end of the year mark in mind, we should see the spire/pinnacle going up any day now.

Correct.....it intimates that the pinnacle did extend all the way down to the top of the concrete structure. They had been installing sections of it all along as the steel structure rose, we only noticed the top few sections as they went above the rest of the structure.

It has already been lifted by one movement from the top of concrete to where it is currently.

Emaar still says the handover is mid 2009 but I have spoken many people from different sub-contractors, they said 2009 is almost impossible, most of them said maybe in 2010.
we will see.

WB Imre - your last shot made my jaw drop. And I reckon I can see a bit of pinnacle at the bottom of your 2nd-to-last pic.

When you say "cladding has stopped because the Emaar didnt pay to the contractors, I have heard some others companies also stopped", do you mean other companies working on the Burj have stopped work?

It appears the base of the pinnacle would be resting on Level 158 (just below the base of Tier 17) at this stage of the installation.

The next move looks to take the base up to Level 160.

Having said that...if the current height of the top of the pinnacle (from Culwulla's latest diagram) is correct at 727m then the pinnacle is still likely to be sitting on the top of the concrete structure, if all 144m of it is already up there. In this case the next move may be up to level 158 where work on the cladding fixed to the pinnacle can take place.

Great pictures again, everybody! Bad to hear rumors about the construction slowdown

@Imre

Do you know why "imredubai" is blocked? (at least through etisalat here in my office)

And what focal length does your camera lens have? Seems to be at least 300mm
