the facade is shiny now, imagine a whipe down how gleaming it will be??
i suppose it was the same for the inhabitants of Cairo way back when the pyramid of cheops was nearly completed. not sure if most people know this but the pyramids when completed where clad in gleaming white limestone/marble, thus so bright you couldnt look at them without squinting. sort of god like structure, which was the pharoas idea. the beautiful marble slowly deteriorated over the centuries and was also used to build local houses, thus the current stepped stone look.

it sure was a wonder of the world on completion. same for this beuaty. it will be looked at for decades in awe and wonder. not only for its height but location and design.

Is that a record?

On another note, seems that the financial crisis has finally caught up with BD. I hope there are no majour delays.

BD is almost finished, so the financial crisis is not really a problem. But for other projects...

Great that you're back... but this would be tragic if you'd have the opportunity now to take tons of similar pics of the tallest structure, because it is on hold! But I still hope that this is a temporary shortage, so that BD can top out soon and get its full cladding.

I assure you the Prince himself will pay for this thing out of his own pocket before he would let stand unfinished.

I hope...
The good news in this story that Dubai and U.A.E. stands strong against the economic crisis...
How many towers are under construction or almost finished compare with U.S and other counties under construction sites? At least twice...

Nice progress. Can't wait to see it finished or topped out at least with CLEAN windows.

So if I understand right even Culwulla ain't sure about the height (I know that it's never been officially published yet but you know we've all thought about 819 meters as something certain and know there are doubts?). And now some financial problems. I hope that everything is going to be fine and that BD won't end like one North Corean hotel...

Waiting for the next New Year's eve 2009/2010 - I plan to spend it in DUBAI watching finished BD
