Maybe they are using the glass panels they have in stock

They put out green net on the top concrete floors in OTR's last photo. That one panel of glass look so lonely as well.

Those last steel floors look so fragile. If another sand storm comes, I hope it won't break off :p

5:57 minutes show the spire will start to lift as soon as the steel floor at 128 metres above top of concrete structure finishes. That means 714 metres at overall height. Closest floor I found was top of 22A which is 713.7m. But now we're well passed that, and this video is out of date. But I get strong feeling the spire lifting may start way before tier 26 starts.

Do not decieve yourself. The financial crisis will hurt Dubai (and by default Burg Dubai)

How many towers are under construction or almost finished compare with U.S and other counties under construction sites? At least twice...
This is serious folks. The worldwide financial crisis led by the foolish behavior of many greedy people in the United States (real estate bubble) will have an effect on Dubai and Burg Dubai... how much so remains to be seen depending on how tourism is effected. Energy prices are down over $100 (USD) per barrel and falling fast. This has to be hurting Dubai to an extent but worse for other countries who have been parking their petro dollars in the Dubai real estate market.

As for Burg Dubai and the rumor that contractors have not been paid is probably an issue of credit lines for construction that have been canceled or reduced... or additional collateral being required etc... etc... IMHO The building itself will be completed as the government of Dubai will not allow something like that to remain as a unfinished eye-sore (as will the other projects)... It will be interesting to see how many new projects are started or how many proposed plans are shelved until the crisis sorts itself out...

The tower itself looks fabulous and is way to far along to stop now. It will get done.

What would be fantastic is if they get a "top out" celebration to coincide with new years! imagein the fireword display for the Burj Dubai. my god it would be so epic.

Can they jack up the spire fully in 4/5 weeks...?

Spire

What is the total length of the spire within the structure right now? Are there any clear, definitive pics of where the bottom is?

My boyfriend told me yesterday that he heard from the radio that the company who build Burj Dubai just lost 60% of its value and put Burj Dubai construction on hold. Is that true?

Exactly my sentiments and very true statement.

I dont understand the little laughing head from BMHT, there will be many projects shelved on many projects.
