Thanks, but is there a x-sectional plan view?

Hi Land Man. They will use both single laminated clear reflective glass and insulated reflective vision glass.

Hi all.

So ....
- When will it be done ?
- Is it topped out yet ?
- What is the height now ?
- When will the jacking start ?
- What are the top floors used for ?
- It looks so thin up there it could snap off.
- Why are they building in the middle of the desert ?
- Who will live in all these buildings ?

I'm new here - I can't and/or I'm too lazy to read any previous posts ...

Ahem .... Anyway ...

Land. The upper cladding is single laminate glass where the rest is double laminate - still glass though. The plans show perforated stainless over the single laminate on the uppermost cladded tiers. We need some big lens closeups to tell for sure but the small wings look like no perforated stainless over the glass to me.

ra. Here is a print of tier 20 to 22. The section prints I have for higher up tiers only show the exterior.

To all.

Here is the newest schedule I have - I think less than a year old. The one that I had been using was from 07 02 26. This new one doesn't show the date of the schedule at the top.

plan_schedule_2008.jpg (2.0 MB)

They are at least a month behind this schedule in regards to top out. Also this schedule shows a completion date of 09 10 31 - the latest word I've heard is the completion date is 09 12 20 and some say even that is unrealistic.

Happy holidays all.

The lifting pattern on the schedule obviously does not really match with our observation. On the plan there are 3 small jacking stages at first, but in reality there was a big jacking before they made the smaller steps to attach the wings.

@Fury
Could you please explain that schedule a bit more? Especially the meaning of the different coloured lines? The only one i really get is the big red one. But i think one of the others must be cladding and all that other stuff!?

It doesn't really look like glass to me in this picture:

On the wall at home. The door gives a good sense of scale!

Very, very happy with how well this came out

Great. How many did that print cost? And did you use an online store? (if yes, please tell me)

Did an online poster shop make that for you, or did you print it on your own?

I got this printed at a shop in Dubai. It's a "proper" photographic print, so let's just say that it wasn't cheap to do. It is 7 feet high afterall!

I'm investigating options for making this available more widely (you really do need to see it in person to appreciate the quality of the image), but I very much doubt that this thread should be used for commercial endeavours, so will leave it at that for the moment.
