chill out man I was only asking because in some photos it does look like its veering off very slightly to one side!

You have to admit that the topping out thing is kinda confusing if you don't know they're jacking up the spire. People generally don't expect a building to grow from the middle.
It sounds like a joke. They're building it from the top down.

I think that will be because of the effect of lens shift (false perspective) because of the arc of the lens capturing the photo.
Fisheye lenses show this effect even more and can give some really interesting photography with the right subject matter.
In the photos where the pinnacle is in the center of the picture, it appears straight.....as I'm sure it is.

I also agree

The last pages are full of spam, that's what happens when no progress is in sight. Every time I open the supertall projects thread, I am afraid that the title has changed from U/C to T/O, I get goosebumps! Anyone knows when the next jacking is due for?

Lol your post is spam too. Just as mine is.... But well just skip those posts when reading through the thread if you are only looking for updates and photo's. But I agree it's getting boring now haven't been any updates for 2 weeks. Hopefully top out will be the last week of January.

Wow this picture seems almost unreal and makes the burj seem ridicoulosly tall, through the smaller buildings in the front

The top beacon is flashing for 2-3 weeks already, see one of my pics from December 27th:

Huge version http://www.quetschluft.de/dubai/DSC_0140_q.jpg

White flash roughly every 2 seconds.

(When are they gonna sort out "The Address" - it's bent! )

thanks for latest photos guys. really impressive.
a guy from work asked me the other day how tall is burj dubai compared to sears tower (because that to him has been the tallest most imposing skyscraper he had seen in real life) and i told him twice as high. he just couldnt believe it.
the burj dubai really is a new wonder of the modern world.
we will have to wait to maybe sept this year for forumer photos from lev124. should be cool to get updated photos from the burjd looking down on other projects being erected in Dubai.
cheers
