So this is finally coming to an end. I hope some of the big skyscraper fans don't fall into a depression.

edit: p.s. The Sock look on top of the same page.

jacking

Good to hear that there's only one jacking left after tonight...
It took some time, but we're almost there.

That same thing makes me sad, what do we all have to do after completion of the tower?
Anyways, it's just amazing looking at the pics from Imre,OTR,Desert Diver & all those others i've forgot..
Even though the Burj hasn't been finished yet, it already looks (and is!) like a miracle

Exactly. The epic moment is coming! So it has almost 810 meters right? That's insane There's a lot of time to the opening. However, the updates about height, jacking etc. will soon be history. I'd like to thank to all of you guys who have made a lot of photos, given so much information and diagrams! This thread was (and still is) awesome When BD will be T/O I'll cry probably

Hi all.

- Duboy said in his post just a few above yours - Jan. 17 if all goes well.

So we're at 808.7m. - cool (if there is 9.3m. to be jacked). I guess there goes the Arabian Business article claiming the 808.0 final height ..... - as if we didn't know that was BS ..........

My jacking timeline that I have on the go shows this is the 6th stage. I am not counting the small test jack though. Duboy - are you counting the small test jack as stage 1 ? I am going by pics and this is the 6th stage that is big enough to be visable.

Guys - top out is near a year before completion. This thread will be around a long time yet. We will still get to see the 5 or 6 weeks of crane work to finish tier 22 and connections to the pinnacle pipe. Also there is the completion of the cladding. Then there is the crane disassembly proceedure and all the work at the base of the structure. I do hope site visits will be allowed though so we can see some of the internal fitout work to help keep us going untill completion - there is so much going on that we don't get to see.

^yes the tower itself is 93m wide at base, thats over 300ft and its first 6 floors reach over 150m/500ft in width. so yes its a grand entrance alright.
