That's just the area around the black dots of the Dubai Fountain. The Fountain is IN the lake.

Nope. It's just that the picture was taken slightly off angle and because there is nothing else to compare the tip to the bottom, it just appears that way.

All I did was rotate the picture by angle of 1.2 to the right. It's not perfect, but every bit of angle increase or decrease actually is a big difference as you can see, the top does seem still a bit off set.

I think the curvature is from the camera lens. It's a rather common occurrence in photos to have some distortion around the edges. See how the taller buildings at the bottom of the photo appear to be leaning towards the center of the photo?
