making friends.

Crazy we are so close to top-out. Want to visit, but only after construction dies down.

spire

The spire appearing to be bent is an optical illusion due to the asymmetric shape of the upper tiers.

Crane Operator in Lightning Storm

In seeing those video clips and stills of the lighting hits on the spire we just gotta think about that crane operator up there.

I mean if all of this construction urban legend bit is, in fact, true and that guy has actually been living up there in that crane or upper floors for a year that must just be just a horrific thing to experience - kind of like those Forest Service folks up in wildland fire watch towers that get nailed by lighting hits up on mountain tops. As an Arizona desert rat I know just how incredibly violent desert thunderstorms can be...unlike anything I experienced growing up in the midwest.

So what about the 'worlds' highest Indian' is all of that for real? I did a bunch of googling about him and have found little details except what has been posted here. I mean doesn't he have to get out of that crane and exercise a bit or something...just to ensure his legs stay strong enough to climb up and down those ladders up there! But hangin' out up there in a windy rain driving lighting storm with everything swaying about and those big thunder boomers hitting right above you-----YIKES!!

I saw a nice angle yesterday, I will try that.
Every single one - as always. You are by far the most prolific photog in my collection - Thanks for all your efforts to keep us all updated.

Yes it looks to me we are still at 808.7m. Still no lower half of tier 23 small wings - Sat. is looking unlikely for the final jacking stage to top out. Whats a few more days to us that have been watching for years.

The bending is due to the lightning strikes
