Wow those fountains are incredible, that better than a firework display and the lights are for every night? Wel thats if the final project is the same or anything similar to the renders. That one of looking straight up at Burj Dubai...almost sends me dizzy seeing it on my screen, nevermind what it must be like actully being there, really want to see it, and even after everyting that has been said, I still have a feeling they might just jack it up that bit higher (after 818 metres) because on wikipedia it says te final height will not be given until september this year, thats a good long way away yet so I just have that feeling

Some people that live in Dubai, like Duboy, said it and it also is on BurjDubaiSkyscraper.com.

We'll see concrete for a while because of the service elevator. That part can't be cladded until the elevator is taken down.

that would be silly keeping "official" height still secret until sept09.even though it has topped out in jan09.sought of drawing out the climax. like the ESB, they should just say height when it reaches its max.
but i know what emmar are trying to do. everyone loves a ribbon cutting ceremony.standing under the completed tower in sept, looking up and saying "i now give you the worlds tallest building rising some 818m high."
nice updates imre.

in this pic, it looks like a guy standing at tier27 terrace.
i know its not, but that would be about right standing roof of the world some 768m high.

Cul, according to your diagrams we theoretically know the height. Of course an official announcement is different. This is because there is always the problem of error, not in your calculations, but due to alterations to the actual building we are unaware of. Even so, how big can this error be? A few centimeters? A few meters? A few dozen meters?

In Dubai that's probably the best thing since during the summer it's HOT. Never been there but I know it can hover over 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 Celsius) for days and then go down to 90 and back to over 100 for another week. lol

It will be world's official tallest building only after it's completed and occupied.

The issue about not making the height public until september. It doesn't make sense for us as will not change anything. But for Emaar it makes sense, if they say it has topped out, they won't be able to change the height, even if they do, CTUBH will not recognize that addition. Even if they are not planning a height change, why would they want to lose their right and capability of changing the height, without any good reason? they just wait until September. From that point of view, it makes perfect sense. They don't care if we are waiting for the official announcement or not.

besides how many people do actually know? few is putting it in a really delicate way. and all the rest of humanity will find out only after the official anouncment of opening the biggest, tallest, most technologically advanced, blablabla, blopblopblop, building on the earth, brought to you by the emaar.
