Too bad mary Shelly didn't live to write a book about it.

You should also remember that the CTBUH police might not use the exact same point for zero meters that the plans did. That could move the official height by a few feet either way.

This one is taken from the beach of the Atlantis Hotel on Palm Jumeirah, roughly 20km away from the tower.

Anyone have any idea why Emaar-after building the world's tallest erection- have suddenly gone all modest and quiet, not making any statements as to the current height of the tower, what's the problem?

Maybe because the want to wait until BD is complete. I read the get their titles "heighest building", "heighest structure",... when building is complete. so why the reason to post a release fast...?

Notice at the bottom it says "Dubai Shopping Festival: January 15 - February 15." So it has nothing to do with Christmas.

That is just a little part of the amount of cranes you can find in Dubai right now...

En verdadque este rascacielos es impresionante, los paises arabes quieren posicionarse ante el mundo, lo han logrado, superaron y por mucho el record de altura en un edifricio, y po lo que se hay aun mas proyectos con edificios mas altos.

Old Town Resident, are you asking this question becuase you suspect that it has not topped out? My understanding was that when it topped out, the bottom of the wings attached to the spire should be flush with the top of the uppermost steel level. In the first picture in this post http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...ostcount=15000 , it is clearly not the case.
