Hi caribbean.

The Burj Dubai is topped out - trust me .....

Read my post a page or two back for an explanation
of the wings attached to the spire .....

Great update as ussual Imre.

Not much action at the top since top out - nice to see the cladding progressing though.

As Fury has stated the current height clearly fits in with the plans that we have had the pleasure of being privay to for the last year or so, but I just find it odd that cladding would surround the spires full circumference below the top tier.

The fitting lugs below this level that are welded to the spire also depict what is below the cladding already attached.

Im not saying that there will be any further height increases, but I was told as I posted a few weeks back that the last week in January would see final activity at the top.

For my part I was using a Nikon D40X until last week, now I got a Nikon D300. For normal pics and the night shots I use the Nikon 18-200mm f3,5-5,6 VR lens. Additionally I got a Sigma 10mm f2,8 fisheye, which I rarely use.

I use Panasonic DMC-FZ50, nothing special.

I would like to buy a really professional camera (D1,D5 etc) but just for hobby this Pana is enough.

I have a Canon EOS 20D but after taken around 50000 pics that one is old and mirror demaged .

It amazes me when I see people who seriously lack any problem solving skills at all.

You have a question about a photo a person posted. Common sense would say to read the post right above the photo, but there's people who's brains actually can't grasp this concept, it's unbelievable.

I think there needs to be a new category to describe buildings like the Burj. Supertall is for buildings around 60-100.

Maybe Megatall or Megascraper lol. We need something new to describe buildings over 110 stories.

^You know I think you may be the first person to ever make this suggestion, nobody in the history of skyscrapercity has ever thought of this before...... Or maybe, just maybe some ******* starts this conversation every two months, wastes three pages of pointless flaming and gets ignored...For christs sake, megatall is even in the tags for this thread.

Position the camera over the side border next to the glass panels, with the lens hood almost attached to the glass. The best place is the semi-enclosed private room, less reflections there.

There will still be reflections and gost images though, but they can be partially removed with post-processing.
