You are right. it a mistake you often find in the media. Often in front of abbreviations or foreign words.
Other examples:

"The desert sahara..." (sahara means desert)

"They fly to the International Space Station ISS..." (ISS means Internation Space Station)

...

But back to topic!

Thanks Imre for the nice photo update of BD

btw, i just realised something. You know how 'burj' in arabic means 'tower' right, so when u translate the name of Burj Dubai you get 'Dubai Tower'.
But whenever media presenters on the tele or journalists in the paper talk/write about this building, they say 'Burj Dubai Tower'. Doesn't this then translate to 'Dubai Tower Tower' ? or "Tower of Dubai Tower' ??

lol, this had just occured to me and it would be interesting to here what everyone here as to say about this
btw, feel free to correct me or shout out if something doesn't make sense.

peace out
Yes, you are right.

'Burj Dubai' = 'Dubai Tower'
'Burj Al Arab' = 'The Arabian Tower"
'Al Burj' = 'The Tower'
etc...

Can they tell us more fountain information ?

If they want the people to offer music suggestions for the fountain, they need to show us how long the performance is: for example if the show is 5 minutes, then you can't play a whole symphony - maybe just the scherzo at the end. What kind of schedule is proposed ?

How is the music delivered ? Is it broadcast on a radio frequency available to be tuned in - or is it played outdoors ? Is there a viewing area where the music is played - while keeping quiet where quiet is needed ?

There is the need to avoid disturbing people who are working or sleeping inside the tower - or in other buildings and elsewhere nearby.

Other points - this will need ongoing maintenance to keep equipment in top working order. High temperatures - and high UV in long hours of sun especially in summer, will encourage the growth of organisms in the water. This needs to be kept under control all the time.

How will fountain programs be modified in periods of high winds to ensure that water does not go where is should not ? They might need to modify programs so that the highest fountain displays do not happen when the wind exceeds certain levels.

Similar conditions would exist at the Las Vegas Bellagio fountain that was built by the same company - so they should know what they are doing.

I don't know about the way the music will be played but all other points have been taken into consideration during the design proces.

thanks for zoom up photos there, the cladding is going at a right pace I think, but it is quite slow though.

Question about the cladding on the very top of the tower (attached to the spire) I know there are no habitable space inside that narrow cladding, but is there a space inside it? Or is it just a folded glasses just to blend the spire with the rest of the building?
