Burj Dubai - Mock up apartment

Here are some photos of the mock up apartment on level 20 taken in June 2008, I can't confirm if this was approved by the client but it was 1 of 4 mock ups from the interior contractor.

Hey, please stop talking about that now. I edited my post and used the smily. So it's ok now.

This is what i meant a while ago when i said i think there are only 182 floors..... see this picture... it has a LANDING (which only leads to the next staircase) you cannot possibly call it or even count it as a floor.

Why bother with mockups of interiors??? You can have ANY interior design you want, so long as it doesn't damage the structure or invade other people's spaces. That mockup looked boring and overly dark.

Rich people disapoint me some times. I don't mind people having all that money, I just wish they didn't waste it... Oh well, one day I will join their ranks, and they will be impressed with what I do with my money. I might even change my name to Jones so they can try to keep up

Actually, I think the mockup looks modern and elegant. Of course it only shows cabinetry, so we're still looking for furniture and decorations....

gr8 updates!
ember- i tend to agree. i also think burjD shouldnt be listed as 162 floors. should be atleast 182 because these floors above ARE accessible not just an empty spire structure

this photo shows the 26 steel levels above lev156.
you have to remember these steel levels are each 6.4m high or 21ft !

Really poor use of space in here. Not a good mockup. If Armani see this he’ll have a heart attack. The design and shape of the furniture will have to be made to fit the shape of the interior, otherwise there are going to be a lot of these useless spaces appearing.

Appreciate the photos omarpalmdubai.

I'd personally reject this apartment even if emaar offered me this apartment for free, the furnitures really should be bright colours, I'd say WHITE.

I'm not overly impressed by them either but not sure if I'll reject them if offered for free!

Hi all.

Nice update as always Imre.

Omar - some great shots from a site visit that we have been missing since they stopped allowing them a while back.

Many take shots of the view when they are up there. While that is cool too - the structural, MEP, and fitout stuff is what I find interesting. The first shot from level 157 really gives some perspective on just how high 6.4 meters is. The other 2 shots give a good indication of the size of the structural members and number of bolts.

The 2 staircases intertwined in one stairwell is interesting - there must be some fairly heavy worker traffic. Tier 15 (the tier just below this) has 2 seperate stairwells. A good way to save floorspace by intertwining the 2 staircases in one stairwell.

Here is a print of level 158 (I don't have one of 157) to show the shape of the floorplan and to compare with the shots.

Omar Palm Dubai, thank you very much for inside view. After more than two years we just see the exteriors, we start to see interior, now. I wish they will make an interior as beautiful as Burj al Arab.

Cheers!

they dont have the money to make it like Burj Al Arab at the moment.

Im surprised by the interior quality - hopefully it will be different when finished - but maybe not??

I live in an Emaar building myself and the finishings / quality all though very good - is exactly like the Burj - I was expecting much much more - especially if Im buying a place at 4000-6000 AED per sq ft / (3500 AED per sqft if buying now )
