The podium is 160 m wide and above the podium shrinks to only 90m. Welcome on SSC

Hi all.

Here is a better render of the concrete to steel transition. That one above that i posted is reduced vertically to fit in the power point presentation.

Enjoy.

FTL Beach Bum and Fury,

I'm a bit confused. Those steel braces that FTL Beach Bum pointed out are certainly the beginning of the steel structure, but it does not match the rendering Fury posted. Here's what I'm talking about:

Is the actual steel structure going to be erected slightly differently than the rendering?

Super pics FTL Beach Bum, AFAIK these are the right names of two of the "top" - from the Discovery Channel Megabuilders show.

Hi jlh630.

The side facing us in the render is the next setback. It faces approx. 60 degrees and the Dubai mall. The side facing us in the pic is at approx. 300 degrees. I haven't seen a pic showing us the setback side without the formwork yet.

Ah, thanks Fury that makes perfect sense. I forgot that there was a setback at the start of the steel structure. So those steel braces we see in the pictures are are on the backside of the steel structure in the rendering? With the exception of this one that we can see?

Thanks for clearing this up, much appreciated.

After understanding how the steel structure will be attached, I've managed to create a clear representation relating the photo taken by AltinD with the rendering supplied by Fury.

Also, great link stjern, I've been craving a real time-lapse video ever since construction began. That one blows me away.

Great video stjern... The timelapse part of it deserves more focus though!

You got it exactly correct.
